Julie A. Botsford, Pharm.D., CPPS, is Medication Safety Pharmacist at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. She serves as preceptor for the longitudinal medication safety rotations in both the postgraduate year 1 (PGY1) and PGY2 residencies. In addition, she is an adjunct assistant professor for clinical pharmacy at Ferris State University.
Dr. Botsford earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Michigan College of Pharmacy in Ann Arbor and completed a residency in drug information at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She is a certified professional in patient safety through the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety.
Within Munson Medical Center, Dr. Botsford is involved in several committees and initiatives related to medication and patient safety. She has taken the lead role in a multidisciplinary evaluation of inpatient insulin pen safety and implementation of system safety improvements.
Dr. Botsford is a member of ASHP, American Society of Professionals in Patient Safety, Michigan Pharmacists Association, and Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She was awarded the 2016 Outstanding Safety Award by Munson Medical Center.
